Kingsport’s Rock Springs, Hidden Acres, and Peppertree Annexations
Now that the City of Kingsport election is over, the city has greatly stepped up its annexation efforts.
It was stated by several members of the Board of Mayor and Alderman at last nights BMA meeting, that if you live within the Urban Growth Boundary, then you will be annexed. I have never seen the BMA be so vocal about future annexations within the Urban Growth Boundary.
It appears that the city is trying to increase it asset value by annexing and thus increasing the amount of money it can borrow for future projects.
Below are the annexations planned for the Rock Springs Rd, Hidden Acres, Peppertree areas.

Green = Property owners asked to be annexed
RS3 and RS4 areas voted on first reading.
The Kingsport Regional Planning Commission has recommended the annexation of RS5 and RS6 and will consider RS7 and RS8 during its August meeting.
